Indian Engagement Party for today’s post on the blog. A few weeks back I did an engagement session with Arjun & Shaili as they wanted to get a feel on how I photograph. Which turned out to be a success. But with the intention of photographing their engagement party at her home.
The place is perfect to host a party, especially with the amount of family and friends they were inviting over. But I truly love culture of any kind and Indian ceremonies of any kind never fail to disappoint with the amazing colors and detail in a bride’s outfit. The jewelry and henna as well always impresses me.
I started a bit earlier than the party’s start time to take a few photographs of Shaili getting ready prior to taking a few photographs on the grounds of her home which is an impress site and a photographer’s dream to photograph as this amazing home. So much to work with from the stairwell, upper level, offices and the outside grounds this place had to offer. Luckily we had a chance to photograph prior to this date because it was so easy to photograph these two.
The real party was about to start where both families were outside ready to greet each other for the first time in this formal setting. It’s a beautiful site I have to admit. To see two families become as one or eventually become as one. It’s what weddings are basically about but to see it in a formal manner I found this to be really impressive. But both families continued on to have a coctail hour before the ceremony.
Onto the ceremony where they made it official infront of their family and friends Arjun and Shaili had a few words on how they actually met and what they actually feel for each other before Arjun got on his knees again to give a mock proposal officially infront of the family before having the rest of the night coninueing to party…
They had a huge family game of trivia questions of who can guess what family member is this as a getting to know each others families. Cool touch… Here’s a few from their day..
