This particular E-Session happened in October of last year. I met Tom & Vanessa at The Pines Manor in Edison where I had my work on display at another expo. I remember her visiting my table a few times. Which is always nice, but she gravitated to my style, which I’m thankful for. We spoke for a few and she stated she would come back. At the end of the night she passed by again with her fiancé Tom (cool and down to earth guy who is hilarious) and we chatted for a little. I showed her more work and talked more. By the time I wrapped up for the night she stated that she was going to hire me no matter what. Now I didn’t think she was serious because you do get those that show strong interest and through the course of meeting other vendors and planning, one can forget or remember in this case, but little did I know she actually did follow up and got to me first before I tried to follow up with her on the same day she contacted me and booked me, which I was most humbled. Tom and Vanessa are getting married at Perona Farms at Andover, NJ.
We set up a date to shoot the session at Edison, NJ. Trust me, I don’t know the name of the location or address I just remember one day being in the area and dropping my map pin on the iPhone maps to save the location because it was basically an empty road that leads to different private companies but the side of the road had these wheat fields that looked very country so to speak. So I always said to myself that if I ever do an engagement in the area I will definitely utilize the area for a few shots…and that I did. So we met up there and they brought their beautiful daughter to tag along.
From there, we got back in our cars as we literally parked on the side of the road or grass I should say for a few shots then headed to a park in New Brunswick, NJ. Where Vanessa mentioned prior to the shoot that she wanted me to document her and Tom having a paint fight. First time I ever shot a paint fight as it turned out to produce some pretty good action shots…. 🙂
Here’s a few from their session…
As we know planning a wedding is stressful, and confusing at times with all the vendors to choose from. I promised myself that I would not get myself overwhelmed with wedding planning and told my fiance that I wouldn’t be the bridezilla and make him crazy. With that said I wanted to explore at least 1 bridal expo with the hopes in finding a photograoher. As my fiance, my best friend, and I approached the tables at the expo in Edison we came across a photographer who seemed to be more about the business than his actual work. We were completely turned off and pretty much ready to leave the expo. We decided to look around and boy was I glad we did. On the opposite side of the expo was another photographer (DannyUphotography) who I approached with ease. I was not only taken away from his pictures he presented, but his professional calm manorizims drew me further into choosing him as our photographer. He was not trying to force us into choosing him with his prices, and telling us we need to sign with him today in order to hold the day as the other photographer did. His eye for talent and eye for capturing those memorable moments is what I was blown away with. I couldn’t wait to book with him for our engagement session after how comfortable I felt with him and couldn’t wait to see what he had in store for us. Told him exactly what I wanted in terms of the seneary and as he mentioned in our story we literally parked on the side of the grass corn field where He was able to take beautiful shots. Thank you Danny for your talent, and patience with me As I wanted to take more and more shots:) counting the days till our wedding day for more amazing pictures to look back at!
