At the Madison Hotel for Emil & Marlee’s wedding on a rainy gloomy day where we dodged the rain thankfully and this lovely couple was still able and willing to do photos outside in a small drizzle. Big kudos to them. First time photographing a wedding here and this place is very nice. Has a vintage feel and an old train in the back where one can dine and the actual conservatory ballroom did not disappoint.
Started with my groom, Emil. Stand up guy who is very low key and extremely down to earth who has an excellent energy about him in a subtle way. Hard to describe but I loved working with him as well as Marlee who is exactly the same in some regards. Both classy people.
Something about a bride and father relationship I love documenting. The energy or emotion of the photo is different. Marlee and her mom wanted me to photograph her father the first time he would see her in a bridal dress. Mind you it’s kinda hard to document this in a dark room after inspecting every angle in the room to see how I would capture this. Luckily the mirror gods at the Madison hotel had a full length mirror on the wall next to the entrance of the bedroom suite area of Marlee’s room where I was able to capture a pure moment between the two in one shot… Marlee’s reflection in the mirror and her Dad’s reaction as he’s walking in the room…..
On to the ceremony and the day’s formalities…. Here are a few from their day….
