This is probably the first time that I actually did an official shoot for an actual friend. A childhood friend. I’ve known Mario now for over 20 years or more. I would say more years because everyone in Hoboken knows each other. Even if you don’t know your peers, you do see them around as a kid in Hoboken or whenever you would play any sports and go for tryouts as a kid.
We actually officially met in high school as we played on the same baseball team at Hoboken High. Our friendship has taken off from there. We lost touch for a few years after. As I went to college and Mario went into the Marines. It was years later where we bumped into each other one morning I was driving into work and parked the car to chat for a few. It was a Friday morning I remember and he asked me what I would be doing that night. I told them that I was actually competing in a Salsa contest. Yeah I know, most of you don’t know this but I actually danced professionally for 10yrs plus but Mario was interested in going with me so I took him along. He originally didn’t believe me at first and rightfully so. I think this would be the last thing you’d think you would hear from a former baseball player. After that night Mario wanted to learn and through his hard work is now an instructor, has his own dance studio in Jersey City and has been running it successfully for more than 15yrs with his supportive fiance Evie.
These two are getting married next year at The Tides Estate…. here are a few from their day.
